Elk Creek Falls

Elk Creek in Clearwater County, Idaho is a very photogenic body of water.  It is tucked away in a nice forest and has three waterfalls along with numerous smaller cascades.  Beyond these facts, there is lovely columnar basalt that lines the falls and forms the bedrock of the creek.  I had seen this before in photos and marvel at the formations whenever I hike to the falls.  This past Sunday was a decent day to shoot at the creek due to the cloud cover.  I hiked to all three falls, but have yet to come up with a good compositional effort on the middle falls.  Here are a few of my takeaways from the hike.  A video of the lower falls can be seen here; this gives you a good idea of what I was looking at while taking the various pictures that I’ve posted.
